Code Compliance for
North American Standards

Performance you can measure, Quality you can feel.

In North America, windows and doors must meet rigorous standards for performance and energy efficiency. Two key frameworks guide this compliance: the North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS) and the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC).

NAFS, aligned with CSA A440.2 and adopted by the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC), tests products for air infiltration, water penetration, and structural performance. This standard ensures that all fenestration systems perform reliably under the varied and demanding Canadian climate.

Complementing this, the NFRC provides independent ratings for energy performance, including U-Factor, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC), and Visible Transmittance (VT). These ratings are critical for compliance with provincial energy codes and contribute to energy modeling for projects aiming to meet Energy Star, Step Code, or Passive House criteria.

At Diba Windows, our systems are tested and certified under both NAFS and NFRC guidelines to ensure all our products meet or exceed the required standards. Every window and door we fabricate comes with detailed performance data and certification labels, helping builders and architects streamline permitting and inspection processes.
